At Riverside Community Hospital, we understand the importance of providing the highest quality of care to the women and children in our community. For this reason, our team of specialized clinicians and medical professionals offers a full range of women’s and children’s services to promote the health of every woman and child. Our services include, but are not limited to:
- Care for high-risk pregnancies
Conditions such as gestational diabetes and high blood pressure can endanger the health of an expecting mother and her developing child. At Riverside, we offer pregnant women full assessments and diagnoses before the baby is born, including a personalized plan of care and treatment to ensure the health of mother and baby.
- Neonatal intensive care unit
The presence of our neonatal intensive care unit (NICU) provides new parents with increased feelings of safety and security during their stay. Staffed by specially trained medical professionals, the NICU is prepared all day, every day to care for infants.
- Breastfeeding clinic
First-time mothers often have many questions regarding the breastfeeding process. To assist mothers with this experience, Riverside offers a Breastfeeding Clinic to answer questions and provide support. The clinic can also serve as a follow-up visit post delivery—women can have their new baby weighed and bilirubin levels checked.
- Prenatal education services
The Women’s Services Center education clinics are meant to provide women and their families with the information they need to promote the physical and emotional health of their new baby. We offer a variety of different courses, from sibling preparation to prepared childbirth.
- Breast imaging
Mammograms have the ability to detect dangerous cancers of the breast during their earliest and most treatable stages. At Riverside, we strive to make breast imaging more accessible and comfortable so more women choose to undergo this life-saving exam.
